‘Sugarcane’ film on residential school legacy nominated for best documentary at Oscars

A documentary that explores the devastating legacy of residential schools in Canada has been nominated for an Academy Award. The Oscar nominations were announced on Thursday and Sugarcane is among five nominees for best documentary feature.
