March 11: Remembering everyone lost by COVID-19

This week will mark one year since the World Health Organization declared the COVID-19 virus a global pandemic, prompting worldwide lockdowns. Over 2.5 million people around the world have died due to the virus, including more than 22,000 Canadians. As a result, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the federal government is naming March 11, 2021 as a national day of observance to remember everyone lost to the virus and the great impact it has had on all lives.
