Former foster child alleges she was left unsupervised in a downtown Winnipeg hotel room

A former foster child has filed a lawsuit against the Manitoba government and a child welfare agency. The lawsuit alleges the plaintiff was just nine years old and was sexually assaulted by an older boy she was left alone with overnight in a Winnipeg hotel room in 1997.
