The proposed First Nations Education Act is getting a lot of negative feedback from First Nation leaders across the country.
Earlier this week the Assembly of First Nations wrote the Minister of Aboriginal Affairs stating the proposal is not acceptable.
The government says the proposed legislation gives First Nations a guide on how to set up their own education system.
But many feel it will give the government too much power over schooling in communities.
