After a year and a half of detailed testimony and tens of thousands of documents, the fate of a discrimination complaint against Canada is now in the hands of the three commissioners charged with making a decsion on the case.
Aboriginal Affairs Minister Bernard Valcourt defended Ottawa’s treatment of First Nation children Tuesday as the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal continued to hear closing arguments on a discrimination case against the federal government.
The Assembly of First Nations is trying to figure out how deep programming cuts will affect the organization in the year to come.
