Jurors sat through three weeks of evidence in the trial of Raymond Cormier, 56.
“We say Mr. Cormier was telling the truth when he said he didn’t kill Tina Fontaine.”
Tina’s body, wrapped in a duvet cover and weighed down by rocks, was pulled from the Red River in Winnipeg.
Raymond Cormier, 56, has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in the August 2014 slaying of Tina Fontaine.
The jury is to hear closing arguments on Tuesday.
The tapes were made as part of a six-month undercover operation police launched in their investigation into Tina’s death.
