Members of two First Nations in northern Alberta are worried they may lose a hard fought battle for a health study if the Progressive Conservative government falls on Monday.
It took Fort McKay and Fort Chipewyan more than a decade to get the provincial Tories to study the impact of the tar sands on their health.
Both communities say their high rates of blood disorders and cancer are caused by tar sands operations.
They say their drinking water is contaminated and wild game is disease-ridden.
The study is under the control of the First Nations.
Progressive Conservative Premier Alison Redford says the Wildrose party will kill the study if they are elected Monday.
