Spring is still a couple of months away but preparations for what seems to be yearly flooding is starting now. The province of Manitoba issued an early flood report on Monday and the forecast isn’t good for the Peguis First Nation.
Last year the community was evacuated because of flooding and has yet to have fully recovered. This year forecasters are painting a bleak picture.
“unfavourable weather conditions could result similar to thos of 1997 levels.”
1997 was the year the Canadian army rolled into Manitoba to help with flooding.
