And, on Aug. 3, Parks Canada is paying tribute to Sgt. Tommy Prince on Treaty 1 territory in Manitoba.
Prince is a descendant of one of the chiefs who signed the treaty.
A special ceremony will commemorate the signing at Lower Fort Garry outside Winnipeg.
