Clint McIvor says some people on Sandy Bay First Nation in Manitoba are without heat in their homes and are using ovens to keep warm.
An emergency fundraiser was started on Facebook to fix leaky houses, get blankets and heaters.
“Anything to keep them warm for the winter. It’s really sad and disturbing,” said McIvor.
He said the responses have positive, but negative, too.
