A handful of demonstrators rallied in downtown Toronto to protest against a bill that will amend the Indian Act.
Conservative MP Rob Clarke’s private members bill has some First Nation people across the country outraged over what they say is a bill being pushed through without proper consultation.
“We need to educate all our reserves across Canada and let them know what the government is doing, how they’re sneaking through legislation without our knowledge, consent or consideration,” said demonstrator Tori Cress.
This protest is just one of many expected to take place across the nation this week.
