APTN National News
Hearings on the Northern Gateway pipeline were expected to resume this week, with four days scheduled in the community of Bella Bella, British Columbia.
But the first of those four days has been cancelled, after the expert panelists became afraid for their safety.
Protesters from nearby First Nations communities met them at the airport, and have staged a hunger strike to protest the Northern Gateway project.
It’s not known yet if the remainder of the hearings in Bella Bella will also be cancelled.
APTN, does an exelent job of balanced news brodcasting, Your attack and ignorant rant on the perspective of Mr Josh Gurmmet is unfounded. Im sure he has his own opinions about the items coverd, and is directed to report as directed.
Why take it out on him, when its his job and livelyhood. At least your getting the news!!
Josh Grummett – Your title is offensive. The protesters were peaceful and respectful, even the RCMP agreed. So I can’t see how they “FORCED THE CANCELLATION”. I thought APTN was a First Nations Media Platform? If you are going to promote yourself as FN orientated news site, how about a story on the rights and titles of aboriginals and the right to free speech? It is sad day that our people turn on each other for a story, or money$$$.
