A preliminary inquiry into a Nunavut manslaughter case has been delayed again, thanks to concerns about the security available in the courtroom.
The court needs seven consecutive days to hear the inquiry, but it has been delayed multiple times because the Nunavut Justice Department has been unable to provide proper courtroom security, according to the justices.
The court has apologized for the delay, and the inquiry will continue on December 14th — the next time seven consecutive days are available, in Nunavut’s crowded justice system.
