A dispute between a developer and the Mohawks of Kanesatake appears to finally coming to an end.
Norfolk Development sparked outrage in the Mohawk community this past summer with plans to build condominiums in an area claimed by Kanesatake.
The Oka municipality says it bought the land for $280,000. The grand chief of Kanesatake says the community is happy with the deal and called on the federal government to stop any new developments on contested land in the area known as the Pines.
