The federal government is undertaking an expensive survey of the Northwest Territories-Nunavut border.
The current boundary was first established back in 1999 when Nunavut became a territory.
At over 24,000 kilometres long, the border is considered the longest jurisdictional boundary in the country.
Its exact location is becoming increasingly important with the increase in mineral exploration in the area.
Ottawa has already spent about $1.1 million on the survey which began last March.
