The man Surete du Quebec say is responsible for the March 7 murder-suicide involving two men in Kuujjaraapik, Nunavik, is the son of Nunavut’s most notorious pedophile.
Police confirmed Friday that Aakva Horne, 32, shot Sam Weetaltuk, 22, before turning the rifle on himself and committing suicide.
Sources tell APTN Nationl News that Horne is the son of Ed Horne, the man convicted of a series of sexual assaults against children while he was a teacher in Nunavut between 1970 and 1985.
The Nunavut and Northwest Territories governments have paid out $36.5 million in settlements to 152 victims of Horne.
The SQ said in a published report that it’s believed “jealousy was likely at the root of the incident.”
The spokesperson said the incident was a “clear” case of murder-suicide.
Putting people on a public registry causes stress not only to the registrant, but extends to the family.
Aptn
Derek, the crime of molesting a child causes many layers of distress among the victim’s and the perpetrator’s families. Your argument that putting someone on a sex offenders registry causes someone to do something like this is weak. This man’s father was a terrible and loathsome human being, he belongs on a registry for sex offenders because that is what he is.
Further more your constant self promotion is pathetic. Own up to what you are and get some help.
