The Nutrition North Canada program is now in full effect in Nunavut where the food stakes are highest.
The program replaced the Food Mail program which subsidized people for shipping goods like food.
Now, those subsidies go to retailers, but the savings are supposed to be passed on to customers.
Every single community in the territory qualifies for the subsidy.
Ottawa now says more groups are needed at the territory’s nutrition table.
