New proposed water bill builds on previous version: Duncan

The government of Canada is once again introducing legislation to improve drinking water on reserves.

Aboriginal Affairs Minister John Duncan made the announcement in Calgary Wednesday. Duncan says Bill S-8, introduced in the Senate, builds on a previous bill that was quashed after the election call last spring.

The minister says his bill is focused on cooperating with First Nations.
