A cabinet shuffle in British Columbia has brought in a new minister of Aboriginal relations and reconciliation.
Barry Penner was moved to the portfolio from his previous post as environment minister
Penner takes up the new job at the same time that First Nations in the province are threatening to take action over a proposed gold and copper mine.
The mine, called Prosperity, would turn a lake into a waste dump and destroy a major food source for local First Nations communities.
The provincial government, however, says the project is good for the area because it will bring jobs.
The final decision rests with the federal cabinet and is expected at any time.
