N.W.T. border with B.C. opens up after being closed for 18 months due to pandemic

The border between the Northwest Territories and British Columbia is now open again south of Liard.

What was normally a 25-minute drive to the border before the pandemic, turned into a hours-long journey because of COVID-19 restrictions.

Anyone wanting to drive south had to head to the Alberta border – a 600 km drive away.

Health officials in the N.W.T. have ended all pandemic restrictions for communities across the territory.
