The protectors of the land against Muskrat Falls hydroelectric project had a glimmer of hope when they believed the federal government would review the permits given to the province to allow flooding for the dam.
And then news today that Ottawa would do no such thing.

Instead, the province of Newfoundland and Labrador said it ordered Nalcor, the province’s energy corporation, to mitigate the threat of toxins being released into the water because of the dam.
Now the protectors are planning their next course of action.
I’ve been following this story for a couple of years thanks to Brad Cabana’s reporting (I’m in Ontario). My thoughts and prayers with the people there and the protestors.
