Rumours are swirling once again about the possible ousting of Chief Guy Lonechild of the federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations.
It’s supposed to happen next week at the summer legislative assembly on the Onion Lake First Nation.
In order to legally impeach Lonechild, at least 25 First Nations have to pass resolutions to that effect and submit them to the clerk of the assembly.
If that is done, a vote of non-confidence will be called.
However, in a statement released yesterday, the FSIN says they have not yet received the necessary documentation.
Lonechild was convicted of drinking and driving.
