One of two teenage girls charged with manslaughter in the death of a First Nation woman has appeared in court.
RCMP charged two teenagers yesterday in connection with the death of Roberta McIvor this week.
Her body was discovered decapitated on the side of the road on the Sandy Bay First Nation in Manitoba.
A police investigation revealed that McIvor’s car had been stolen from a yard on the reserve.
McIvor had been sleeping in the vehicle at the time.
The two girls removed her from the car and drove away.
McIvor was fatally injured as the car left the scene.
Her mother Cindy Rubio says the pain of losing her daughter is still very real.
