Sandra Faye Lockhart is testifying this week in Yellowknife at the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
But Lockhart is concerned that the increased focus on the commissioners from critics is coming at the expense of families.
“They are putting the focus on taking the commissioners down,” said Lockhart. “You should be upholding the women.”
She hopes despite the criticism families and survivors come forward and speak in Yellowknife.
