I strongly feel that in order to solve the problems the AFN needs to restructure the Governmening structure, as it is currently a reflection of history.nnI would suggest consulting experts in regards to formation of Governing systems. This is a full time job– not something that can be done over a period of 3 days. Why are MP’s, and MPP’s flown from their hometowns to their capitals, while the Chiefs have these brief meetings. nnThis is a time for dialogue, consultation, and intense thought, yet no one can be expected to meet these expectations, as the foundation of a million Canadians rests upon them, through short meetings.nnPrioritize by first forming a backbone. Consult constitutional experts, academics whom are experts in Governing formation, look to our Parliamentary system, and the traditions of the past, and make determinations which will ensure this backbone is strong. In this way the people can debate through open dialogue, vote etc. and their representatives can bring to the attention what is needed. We are working from a non existent structure, and that is why there is such a degree of frustration in my opinion.nnI don’t want things changed before I know I can communicate with someone and have my own voice heard, and in our current system that is impossible. How can these decisions truly represent all persons when the system of representation is flawed?
