On a crisp morning in Ottawa, Metis veterans gathered at the Aboriginal Veterans Monument to remember those who they served with in war and those who never made it home.
The Metis veterans also received a cheque from the Metis National Council through a program called the Canada-Metis Nation Metis Veterans Recognitions Payment Agreement.
The $30 million agreement was settled in June.
