Jose Kusugak, an Inuit leader who spent his life fighting for Inuit rights, died two weeks ago.
On Thursday in Ottawa friends and family paid tribute to Kusugak at a memorial.
Kusugak held several titles, but most remember him for his work on the Nunavut land claim.
Friends only hold fond memories.
