Imported Justice: Inuit taking rehabilitation into their own hands

Lawyers meeting with clients in bathroom stalls, a makeshift courtroom in a school gym and crammed holding cells These are just some of the realities of justice in Nunavik in northern, Quebec.

In Part 1, APTN video journalist Tom Fennario introduced us to Imported Justice where detainees are flown thousands of kilometres away from home while their case is being heard and rates of recidivism are among the highest in the province.

 

In Part 2, Tom Fennario looks at how the Inuit are taking matters of rehabilitation into their own hands.
