There’s fallout in British columbia from a story we brought you earlier this week.
Former Provincial MLA Walter Cobb made some comments to APTN National News about First Nation opposition to the proposed Taseko mine near Williams Lake.
Walter Cobb now President of the Williams Lake Chamber of Commerce is not backing down.
He told a Vancouver newspaper that he stands by his comments, even though First Nation leaders are calling them inflammatory.
Cobb went on to say there will be a violent backlash against the Chilcotin if the project is scrapped.
The Chilcotin people are opposing the mine because in would mean the destruction of Fish lake.
The BC New Democrats are calling on the BC government to condemn the remarks made by the Liberal insider.
