The First Nations University of Canada says an Indigenous journalism program will start classes in September.
“We started working about two years ago on a new program and expanded program, did tons of research with alum, media professionals, Indigenous media at the community level to find out what they were needing and based on all that research, we created this new program,” said Shannon Avison, associate professor at the school.
The new program comes on the heals of the program that was shut down by the University of Regina.
