A pipeline spill near the small community of Wrigley in the Northwest Territories is far worse than originally reported.
The leak was discovered by local hunters late last month.
At the time, Enbridge, which owns the pipeline, said only four barrels of oil had spilled.
The company now admits that those estimates were way off and that up to 1500 barrels of oil may have leaked into the surrounding environment.
No Enbridge officials were willing to speak with APTN National News about the spill.
The company did send out a press release stating the leak has had no impact on the nearby Willowlake River.
Wrigley community members, however, said the company is wrong.
