As tensions continue to escalate at an anti-fracking protest in northern New Brunswick, the chief of a First Nation in the midst of the action is calling on the provincial government to cool things down.
Elsipogtog Chief Arren Sock is asking the province to issue a moratorium on shale gas exploration in New Brunswick.
Sock’s community is in Kent County where a company in searching for shale gas deposits.
The RCMP has arrested about 30 people as a result of the protests.
Tensions have also been running high between the RCMP and the protesters.
