The Confederacy of Nations is supposed to serve as a kind of watchdog within the AFN.
It for the first time early this year after being dormant for a decade. At the time, an AFN report concluded the organization needed to either clarify the Confederacy’s role or eliminate it.
During a Confederacy meeting in Halifax Monday, much of the day was spent arguing whether there were enough chiefs to form quorum.
Several chiefs also spoke out about their lack of trust of the AFN executive.
Now it seems the future of the Confederacy may be short-lived. Chiefs at the AFN annual meeting will vote on a resolution to dissolve the Confederacy.
