A former Nunavut priest wanted for sex crimes has been arrested in Belgium.
Eric Dejaeger, who is wanted on several charges of indecent assault and buggery, was arrested by authorities in Belgium after his residence ran out.
Dejaeger’s alleged offences were committed between 1978 and 1982 in Igloolik, Nunavut.
He has already been convicted for abusing children in Baker Lake, Nunavut. He completed his sentence in 1995 and moved to Belgium.
It remains unclear when Dejaeger will be sent to Canada.
