A Mountie from the Alderville First Nation was invited to France for a special ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the World War One battle at Vimy Ridge.

A Mountie from the Alderville First Nation was invited to France for a special ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the World War One battle at Vimy Ridge.

The trip is a special one to the RCMP corporal and the community of Alderville.

    A great honour for this officer and the community. My wife’s grandfather was killed in WW1 and is buried over there. We will be at the.100th anniversary ceremony at Vimy with a group of students from St.Mary’s high school in Cobourg.
