Nunavut MP and Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq spends a lot of time flying back and forth between Ottawa and her home in Iqaluit.
She must have been pleased to make Thursday’s announcement at Iqaluit’s international airport.
Aglukkaq was joined by Nunavut Economic Development Minister Peter Taptuna and Premier Eva Aariak to announce new money for Iqaluit’s aging, cramped airport.
Aglukkaq announced that over $77 million had been allocated under a federal infrastructure plan.
Taptuna said the need for a bigger, better airport because the current on waes not designed for today’s Nunavut. It wasn’t even designed for Nunavut.
