The electoral officer for the Assembly of First Nations says five candidates have been nominated in the race for the job of national chief.
The deadline to have nomination papers in was Tuesday at midnight.
The candidates in alphabetical order are incumbent Perry Bellegarde, Saskatchewan; Russ Diabo, Quebec; Sheila North, Manitoba; Miles Richardson, British Columbia; and Katherine Whitecloud from Manitoba.
The election for national chief will take place in Vancouver, B.C. on July 25.
