I was at Oka and I was at Ipperwash, as a Mohawk woman it feels like our fight is continuous. First Nation women require constant support so that we can “fight the good fight”. Although I would rather not fight, it seems the Government of Canada wants to fight…and so we continue. I am with you in spirit if you need me I will come.
This is a continuation of the 1990 Oka Crisis and Ellen Gabriel is still a voice for our people. While this is taking place, land theft is also occurring on the Burtch Lands at Six Nations of the Grand River. Again we are asserting our rights to the land. This land has always been ours.
It will never end. Leave the sacred ground sacred!
Agreed! Woman are defending the Burtch Lands at Six Nations.
It’s traditional, sacred land to us. Defend!!
