Christopher Clarke captured this idyllic scene from Sandy Bar, located near Norway House Cree Nation in northern Manitoba. Aired on January 5, 2024.

Following a light dusting of snow, Former APTN News video journalist Lee Wilson snapped this shot of a bald eagle perched on the Nisga’a lava beds in northern British Columbia. Aired on January 10, 2024.


An early morning sun dog was captured by Red Horse. He took this photo during his time as the firekeeper at Camp Morgan. Aired on January 11, 2024.

Terra French was on a walk at Mill Lake Park in Abbotsford, British Columbia, when she captured this photo that almost appears to look gray scale. Aired on January 30, 2024.

This photo of an amazing golden-orange sunset over the Ottawa River at Petrie Island was taken by Greg Scriver. He says that this is a famous tree that survived three floods in the past few years. Aired on February 8, 2024.


Eve Tidd shared this view of the mountains near Jasper, Alberta. It almost looks like a painting. Aired on February 9, 2024.

An overcast day helped create this amazing shoreline reflection along the Mattagami River in Ontario. This crisp winter photo was submitted by Lucas Martin. Aired on February 20, 2024.


Regular Photo of the Day contributor Clarence Jones perfectly timed and captured this photo of an afternoon moon resting on top of a totem pole in Gitsegukla, located in the Gitxsan Nation in British Columbia. Aired on February 23, 2024.

Usually you can spot these robins perched in the tree tops, but Vivian McDonald took a photo of this one sitting on the ground. A sign that spring was just around the corner. Aired on March 20, 2024.


Regular contributor Dave Mensies took this shot of blooming pussy willows while out for a drive in Steinbach, Manitoba. Aired on April 22, 2024.

A solar flare in the spring provided unprecedented views for many. Kyle Carter shared this view from Victoria, British Columbia. Aired on May 13, 2024.

Photographer Jacques St. Goddard spotted this pair of mallards gliding along the water in St. Laurent, Manitoba. Aired on May 14, 2024.

2024 was another record wildfire year across the country. Brittany Brinkworth shared this photo of the wildfire smoke near Dog River First Nation in northern British Columbia. Aired on May 16, 2024.


Aliiyah Redsky shared this photo after she and her husband found a baby snapping turtle in pretty rough shape in Vermilion Bay, Ontario. They named him Turt Cobaine and nursed him back to health. Aired on June 3, 2024.

Creedance Grace took this photo of a double rainbow as seen from a backyard in Onion Lake, Saskatchewan. Aired on June 12, 2024.


APTN’s very own Lesia Yaroshenko noticed this apple tree in Winnipeg, Manitoba, was experiencing a double bloom. This happens when there is either excessive heat or water stress, which may have been caused by all the rain in Manitoba. Aired on June 27, 2024.

Erin Pope captured this stunning angle of the northern lights as seen from Calgary, Alberta. Aired on July 5, 2024.

On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, thousands marched through downtown Winnipeg. APTN’s Jesse Andrushko captured this photo as the march passed by APTN world headquarters. Aired on September 30, 2024.

Those living in Manitoba were treated to some spectacular evening views of the northern lights in October. Tobi Wilson in Norway House Cree Nation was able to capture this photo. Aired on October 8, 2024.

The snow had arrived in Churchill, Manitoba, when Kyle Dingwall submitted this photo of the plane known as Miss Piggy. The pilot and crew survived plane’s crash in 1979 and the crash site has become a well-known landmark. Aired on October 28, 2024.

Valfaye Shaffer shared this photo of a foggy sunrise over North Rustico Harbour in Prince Edward Island as oyster fishermen headed out on the water. Aired on November 18, 2024.

On this snowy day, Dieter Beardy caught a glimpse of this coyote along Highway 6 on the outskirts of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Aired on November 25, 2024.
