On Tuesday’s Face to Face, I speak with two Indian cowboys, Ron Many Heads and Travis McGuire.
Ron is the president of the Siksika Rodeo Association and helps plan many of the rodeo events on the reserve.
Travis is a bull rider from Siksika, who is rising up the rodeo rankings.
I wanted to talk to both about horsemanship can make you a better human and why the rodeo has such a hold in Blackfoot country.
I grew up with horses and know the connection that is possible with them.
Both of these gentlemen have the quiet patience that comes with working with large animals.
Best wishes to Travis and his little brother in the upcoming year of rodeo. I’m sure they’ll both go far.
I hope the new AgriCentre on Siksika will bring many opportunities for Siksika youth to grow and learn.
