An annual Winnipeg concert to honour missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls turned 10 years old this weekend.
No Stone Unturned began as a way to raise money to help with the search for Claudette Osborne-Tyo who went missing in July 2008.
As Brittany Hobson shows us, it has now turned into a way for families to support each other.
Much of the public is not aware of the plight of Indigenous people’s on this continent, especially here in the states where Aboriginal communities don’t count as a statistic. The original nations suffer from isolation and poverty. There is never any news concerning what is happening in Indian Country. They talk of genocide in other countries, but they say the word when it comes to the genocide of communities here in North America. Through unity, there is a strength, but without true unity, they are jutting hollow words.
