Time to replace RCMP with Aboriginal force: Manitoba Chief

A Manitoba grand chief wants to replace RCMP officers in northern Manitoba with an Aboriginal police force.

Manitoba Keewatin-Owi Oki-Mak-Inak Grand Chief David Harper says he wants RCMP services to be dropped once their contract comes up for renewal next year.

Harper’s organization represents 30 communities in the province.
