Shoal Lake in Ontario has been Winnipeg’s source for water since 1919.
And with Winnipeg looking to expand its services to other municipalities, the need for water is set to increase.
But Shoal Lake First Nation says they’ve already felt the negative impacts Winnipeg’s aqueduct has had on their lake and their community.
Now, they want compensation or they say they’ll stop the water from flowing.
