A Manitoba First Nations man has died after being detained in a holding cell.
It happened on Garden Hill First Nation located about 600 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg.
The holding cell is owned and operated by the Garden Hill First Nation.
Brian McPherson, 44, had high blood pressure and died of a heart attack.
RCMP routinely use the cells to hold intoxicated people.
His death is currently under investigation.
