Officers from the Morton County Sheriffs Department backed by the National Guard, State Police and out of state forces made good on a promise and moved in on the Oceti Sakowin camp Thursday.
Military vehicles and troops dressed in combat fatigues broke up the camp that was the centre of the resistance against the Dakota Access pipeline.
Thursday’s action led to a standoff on the Cannonball River.
