The Assembly of First Nations annual gathering of chiefs from across Canada began in Gatineau, Que. Tuesday.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressed the crowd, promised to change Canada’s laws and policies to recognize Indigenous rights and introduced the Indigenous Languages Act, to protect and preserve Indigenous languages.
But reaction is mixed on whether the Liberals will keep their promises to Indigenous Peoples.
