It was a moment 146 years in the making as history was made for the Metis people of Canada.
Wednesday was the 131st anniversary of the execution of the Red River Rebel – Louis Riel.
Two separate services honoured the occasion and reconciliation efforts between the federal government and the Manitoba Metis Federation.
That includes raising the Metis flag on Parliament Hill for the first time.
