The Indspire Awards highlight and promote Aboriginal education, both traditional and modern, and in doing so recognizes the teachers, leaders, and role models that contribute to our communities. On tonight’s Face to Face, two of elders who were recognized at the 2016 awards in February at Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
Mae Louise Campbell has helped many young women as they face the fast moving waters of modern life. Chief Jim Ochiese of the Foothills Anishinabae was recognized for his role as a culture-keeper and spiritual leader. Both Elder Campbell and Chief Ochiese contribute to their communities with the talents and gifts Creation gave them. And that’s what being a good person is all about.
We spoke to them in the midst of the youth conference that is always a part of the Indspire awards.
