The federal government has started to review the Nutrition North food subsidy program.
That’s the plan brought in by the previous government to lower the cost of buying some foods in Canada’s north.
The problem is no one actually knew whether it was working.
So during the election, the Liberals promised to review the program immediately.
While that work is now underway, the drop in the Canadian dollar could mean that the cost of food in the north is … well … going north.
