Before he filed his complaint against the police, Evan Maud was facing heat from the Winnipeg public.
On comment boards, posters wondered why Maud hadn’t filed a complaint and questioned his allegation that police had taken him on a starlight tour to the edge of the city.
Many Aboriginal people, however, understand Maud’s reluctance. Fear keeps many from complaining about the police to the police.
